now, the way they keep bonsai trees small is keep them in small comtainers, feed it well...i see no reason why it would not  work for your palm tree. Bonsai growers, rather then getting a huge pot to replant in, will pull the small trees out of the pot, cut off the spiderweb roots that forms a pot inside the pot, give it fresh soil and replant into the SAME pot it was in</description>
